Onyxia 2024 Wrapped: A Year of Growth, Recognition, and Innovation

Growth doesn’t happen overnight but it feels like just yesterday we were closing 2023, so now that we are at the end of 2024 we wanted to take a moment and look back on the year that was. Team Onyxia was hard at work all year developing and enhancing the platform, interfacing with our customers and advisors and meeting and introducing it to CISOs and security leaders around the world.

Once again we were recognized by Gartner as a Sample Vendor in Cybersecurity Program Performance Management (CPPM). Speaking of recognitions, Onyxia totaled 10 awards in 2024 across multiple cybersecurity categories and organizations. The awards were the Global InfoSec Award, Cyber Security Excellence Award, Fortress Cybersecurity Award, Globee Technology Awards, SC Media Award and most recently the Globee Women In Business Award.

Let’s take a look at some of the other highlights from Onyxia’s 2024…

About The Onyxia Cybersecurity Management Platform

After successfully launching our product in 2023, our focus for 2024 was to continue to develop the existing features, add more functionality and to further enhance our AI. The new capabilities of the Onyxia Cybersecurity Management Platform provides CISOs and their teams with greater flexibility, customization and personalization, and makes your data even more powerful.

The introduction of OnyxAI, our Predictive Cybersecurity Management Engine, was our most anticipated release of the year. With it fully integrated into our platform, Onyxia provides powerful insights enabling CISOs and security leaders to proactively optimize their security strategy. OnyxAI can predict performance trends and share deep analysis with actionable insights into performance, resource allocation, and risk management.

Over the course of a busy year, we launched a few other notable features aimed at harnessing an organization's security data fabric and helping to optimize their security stack management. Among the launches were the Asset Coverage Analyzer, Custom Frameworks, and the Security Stack Map Budget View. These additions enable CISOs to better leverage data and AI to continually improve their security program, achieve organizational compliance, and optimize their tech stack coverage.

Onyxia In The News

As a startup, building and innovating a new solution, earning trust, and ensuring your message reaches your audience is imperative to success. Our CEO and Founder, Sivan Tehila, recognized the importance of knowledge sharing and authored and contributed articles in several publications. This year Sivan was featured in publications like CNBC, Forbes, SC Mag, the CISO Series, and Authority Magazine and participated in several industry podcasts like CyberRisk Alliance RSA Feature, the Audience 1st Podcast, the Security Cocktail Hour, and inspiring the next generation of founders on the Aphinia Cyber Founders Roundtable and CRA Founder Stories podcast.

Engaging with the Security Community

Nothing brings the cybersecurity world together like the RSA and Black Hat Conferences, and while there are many global events, few carry as much importance for the entire community. Our theme across our conferences this year was “Showtime for CISOs” and in our first year exhibiting at these two global conferences #TeamOnyxia was busy presenting to security leaders on and off the show floors.

Along with participating in major industry conferences, we hosted several of our own bespoke events. This year we created spaces for CISOs to share their experiences and hear from other industry experts on how to face their shared challenges. Coast to Coast we entertained security leaders across various industries and partnered with leading security solutions to foster the sense of community.

We did not let the limitations of in-person events hold us back and made sure that we provided resources for the entire CISO and security community. This year we published our second annual Voice of the CISO report, surveying hundreds of North American CISOs on the metrics that matter most to them, and we shared a Cybersecurity Board Reporting Guide and Masterclass webinar featuring insights from Rinki Sethi, VP and CISO at BILL and Onyxia advisor.

Whether it is intimate dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants, exhibiting at tradeshows, or creating free resources for CISOs, it is our mission to engage our customers and community, imbue our platform with industry knowledge and leave a lasting positive impression.

#TeamOnyxia

With the core of our team firmly in place, 2024 allowed us to focus on adding to our leadership and expanding our Advisory Board. After working with Sivan at Perimeter 81, Karen Mesoznik officially joined Onyxia as VP of Marketing in April, bringing with her years of startup experience to strengthen Onyxia’s strategic go-to-market strategy and efforts.

Our Advisory Board more than doubled this year adding members from across the cybersecurity landscape that bring valuable insights and experience in shaping the development of Onyxia. Joining Rinki Sethi VP and CISO at BILL, Chris Roberts Onyxia CISO Advisor and Deepfake Cyber Strategist at World Wide Technology and Simon Hodgkinson

Former CISO at bp on our advisory board this year were CISO Anshu Gupta, EVP & CIO at Heritage Bank of Commerce, Sachin Vaidya; SVP & CISO at Alteryx, Lucas Moody; and most recently Founder & CEO of Sparked Ventures, Suhit Gupta.

As we wrap up 2024, we reflect on the journey that was, look forward to the future, and are so thankful that you are a part of the Onyxia community.

Wishing you all a Happy 2025!
